There have been 38 donors in the state, over a eleven month period ending August 2009, who donated 76 kidneys, 28 livers, 12 hearts (incl.lungs), 48 Cornea, 26 heart valves and 1 skin. The following Page shows the Table.

This record as annual rate is far better than what has been achieved so far anywhere in the country, but is far lower than what is possible with the existing physical infrastructure. It is the soft infrastructure of creating knowledge of procedures, training of personnel in deceased donor maintenance and transplant coordination and a positive attitude among medical professionals that will make a significant difference.
