Dr. Amalorpavanathan

Respected sir,
Thanking you for giving us the opportunity to be a member of organ transplantation. Most of the times, the eyes that we are receiving are exposed and cornea is hazy. Hence, we are unable to use the eyes for transplantation. So, we kindly request you to make necessary arrangements for protecting the cornea during ventilatory support and till the time of retrieval. May I suggest, that eyes can be bandaged till the retrieval time, so that the cornea remains clear.

Thanking you,

Dr. K.Vasantha
Chief, Cornea services
RIOGOH, CHENNAI.
